The best new home builders in Las Vegas is a hard question to answer. New homes are not built perfectly. Each house is only as good as the building superintendent checking each subcontractor’s work. If they work at multiple neighborhoods, are sick, or take a day off, they can miss something significant.
My advice for a better-built home? Always get a Building Standards Home Inspection, and if we are not your agents, hire a contractor for the framing walkthrough.

My vote is that DR Horton is a better builder than Lennar Homes. I think their homes look nicer inside and out and are typically on larger lots for the same price. The quality is about the building superintendent’s diligence. If you’re torn between the two builders, ask to meet the Superintendents; ask how many neighborhoods they manage. You can also ask about their experience or ask about their resumes.
⚖️ What Is The Lawsuit Against D.R. Horton Builders?
In November 2025, a federal RICO case was filed against DR Horton and DHI Mortgage, DR Horton Las Vegas’ preferred lender. Allegations are that the builder and lender knowingly deceived homebuyers with incorrect monthly payment information.
When calculating payments, an inaccurate property tax number was used, making the monthly payments far less than reality. Some homebuyers ended up having $1000 higher payments on their first payment. This is ongoing litigation.

DR Horton is able to sell cheaper homes because it has multiple Express Homes developments. When they sell the same smaller home floorplans with few modifications, they can purchase items in bulk. They pass the savings on to sell more houses. Houses have the same cabinets, countertops, appliances, water heaters, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, doors, flooring, windows, HVAC units, etc.
Imagine the quantity discounts they get on their basic purchases! What happens with labor repetition is that the workers can work faster and with more accuracy and fewer errors. They make less money but sell more homes in all price ranges.

Over the years, D R Horton Las Vegas, NV, has listened to the market, and they offer many beautiful 1-story ranch homes with wide hallways that people really want. D R Horton’s new construction homes with 2 stories are among the best in Las Vegas.
Our office agrees that D R Horton is a favorite developer who makes the home-buying process smooth. After delivering a home, their home warranty includes a structural warranty. As for quality, the DR Horton subdivisions where I have sold houses have been fine. Every house has issues, and the trick is to find them while there is an active warranty.
Every neighborhood is only as good as the subcontractors and the superintendent. A knowledgeable customer service department that fixes any issues quickly is mandatory. They provide a door-to-door warranty for the first year, and some features and appliance warranties last longer.
When looking for new homes, most people find contemporary homes for sale attractive. With the ability to personalize houses and townhomes. DR Horton is worth viewing.

Northwest Las Vegas has many homes built in buffer zones around Rural Neighborhood Preserve neighborhoods on large lots in the resale market. There are some, but far fewer in Southwest Las Vegas.
Scattered around the valley are newer and brand-new DR Horton homes on 1/2-acre lots, not in subdivisions. These DR Horton houses are not listed on the new home search program. If you like DR Horton’s floor plans, let us show you some of these, too.
DR Horton and Express Homes
DR Horton built homes in Valley Vista with both Express Homes and DR Horton designs. What that means is that Valley Vista was around long enough for its Express homes to prove their attractiveness, as they sold out quickly. That included North Las Vegas and Henderson’s Express Homes Neighborhoods. Traditional decor homes for sale sold at a much slower pace.
Essentially, the Express Homes division is a success! They proved that people liked having fewer options and already decorated-looking houses. They sold quickly because they are THAT NICE. The designers offer three color choices, so decisions are easy.

DR Horton in North Las Vegas, NV & Henderson
North Las Vegas’ DR Horton home community of Valley Vista is built on 200 acres of a 600-acre master-planned community. Some North Las Vegas builders offer a bare-bones product to keep prices down. They are currently moving dirt for a new master-planned community in North Las Vegas.
If you plan on adding upgrades to a basic home, you’ll want to look at a DR Horton home for the same price. Basic DR Horton homes for sale in North Las Vegas include many features that are upgrades with other builders.
You need to be aware that their base-priced home often has more upgrades than other builders. Compare apples to apples. DR Horton usually costs less than other builders for a comparable house when upgrades are added to other builders’ houses.
Their brand new homes include higher ceilings, pavers on the driveways, multiple energy-efficient features as well as their Z-Wave smart home package. We make sure to include DR Horton North Las Vegas on our “area of town” tour.
DR Horton Homes in Henderson, NV, will be in Cadence or resales in numerous locations. Henderson has very little vacant land left for builders to purchase.
