If you want golf, I’d say MacDonald Highlands in Henderson and The Summit Club, The Ridges, or Country Club Estates in Summerlin. There is a new development selling land for building a custom home in Summerlin for $7,000,000 an acre with no golf or city view. The jury is still out.

Silverado Ranch History

Silverado Ranch in Las Vegas is a master-planned community built in the late 1990s. It borders Las Vegas Blvd. to the west and the City of Henderson to the east and south. The airport is a couple of miles north.

There are around 20 neighborhoods in the community, including single-family homes, custom-built homes, condos, lofts, and townhouses. Silverado Ranch homes for sale range from affordable first-time homebuyer houses to luxury semi-custom homes. There are other nearby neighborhoods that are not in the Silverado Ranch master plan but are very close, without HOA fees.

The ground on which Silverado Ranch is built required extensive flood control modifications to be removed from the floodplain. Originally an alluvial fan, the dirt tends to be sandy. When the flood control planning finally reached the Silverado area, developers got busy!

Silverado Ranch Parks, Amenities, and Outdoor Activities

There is a large master-planned community park, Silverado Ranch Park. It has a basketball court, baseball field, skating area, playground, dog park, picnic areas, and an amphitheater. There are walking pathways within the park and also connecting some neighborhoods.

When planning the master-planned community, Silverado Ranch schools were placed in the middle of the community to encourage more kids to walk to school. The elementary, middle, and high schools are in close proximity to each other.

Hidden Palms Park is another park that residents go to – it’s just a little over a mile outside of Silverado Ranch. The park features a fitness area, basketball and tennis courts, and a playground. Some neighborhoods have small parks, but not all of them.

The incredible, private, and under-publicized Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area is only a few minutes’ drive from the community. This is a marvelous place for hiking, riding, or simply enjoying what nature has to offer. Plan a picnic here, even if you choose to live in another neighborhood in the Las Vegas Valley.

Shopping, Dining, and Entertainment

Due to the Silverado Ranch’s location – the residents have MANY shopping and dining options within 5 minutes. There is absolutely no shortage of options when it comes to shopping, dining, and entertainment near Silverado. Many chain stores and restaurants are on Eastern, Las Vegas Blvd., or St. Rose Parkway.

Target, Walmart, Lowe’s, and the Las Vegas Outlet Mall are very close. The Galleria Mall is a few miles away, and Town Square and The Las Vegas Strip are just north of the airport. The South Point Hotel and Casino is on the other side of Las Vegas Blvd.

Of course, The Strip has more options than anyone can think of. Whether you want to shop, dine, or be entertained, The Strip is always an awesome place to play. Allegiant Stadium is conveniently located near Silverado Ranch as well as UNLV and the Thomas and Mack.

While conveniently close to Harry Reid International Airport, the flight paths do not go over the community. The airplane noise is minimal. It’s the best of both worlds. Easy access to the airport without the noise and close to everything Las Vegas and Henderson have to offer.
