Amenities At Skye Canyon

Skye Canyon Park is the center of most activities in the community. This 15-acre space houses the Skye Center, Skye Fitness, and Eagle Canyon Park. Eagle Canyon Park is actually a park within Skye Canyon Park! There are designated areas for biking and walking – the perfect place for those outdoor exercises.

But there’s more! The Skye Center has fireplaces and fire pits that residents can enjoy. Also located within the Skye Center is the Skye Bistro, which serves Starbucks Coffee and light food. For those who want to work out, check out Skye Fitness. It has state-of-the-art facilities, a fitness class studio, and a junior Olympic swimming pool.

Skye Fitness has classes, personal trainers, and locker rooms. The Sky Center features additional spaces for group activities. Outdoors has a basketball court, sports field, splash pad, and a tot lot. Eagle Canyon Park has its own splash pad and a tot lot. and like Skye Fitness, they also feature a basketball court and a sports field.

In 2020, another park opened within Skye Canyon. Skye View Park is located within the Phase 2 area of the community. (Eagle Canyon is at Phase 1). They have a playground, a lighted tennis and pickleball court, and a splash pad. There are 2 dog parks, one for big dogs and one for small ones. 

Check out any of these beautiful parks, even if you’re not into physical activities. Take a stroll, read a book, or enjoy your time at designated picnic areas.

Shopping and Dining In Skye Canyon

Residents don’t have to go far to eat or shop – The Skye Canyon Marketplace is within the community. It’s a 250,000 square-foot area center anchored by a  Smith’s (Kroger) Market. They offer online shopping and delivery, a food court area, and a pharmacy.

Aside from Smith’s, there are more dining choices in the Skye Canyon Marketplace. There’s a dental office and an eye clinic, a health club, and nail and hair salons. Your pet isn’t left out at the Skye Canyon Marketplace!  The Canyon Pet Hospital is another business located in the shopping center.

By the time you read this, there will probably be additional commercial developments in the area.

Schools Zoned For Skye Canyon

You’ve heard the saying, “If you build it, they will come?” Providence is on the school district waitlist first, so Skye Canyon is going to get relief before their turn on the wait list for a school is reached. The school district doesn’t build as fast as the home builders. Buses are a frequent sight in the area. The good news is that there are schools that aren’t too far away. With Skye Canyon selling well, the urgency is obvious.

• Edmundo Escobedo Sr. Middle School

• Somerset Academy SkyPointe Campus (K-12)

Skye Canyon has designated land and made provisions for schools in their future timeline (elementary, middle, and high school). The public school build timeline is not up to the builder. There is one waiting line to build all Las Vegas Valley schools. Architectural plans are duplicated and even copied throughout the country; they are that good. Schools are designed with contemporary security and lockdown features.
