Several things define what Mountains Edge is known for. The park on the mountain is a big draw, as well as the other parks. Views from the mountain are notable. Being t the edge of the valley, safety is another factor. Every area has crimes of opportunity, but the area is known as being a safe area to be outdoors. Schools are very community-based with parental participation. Kids make lifelong friends at school and in sporting organizations. Mountains Edge is located in Southwest Las Vegas on the southern hills. It’s between Rainbow and the western side of the valley, south of Blue Diamond. It is close to the CC 215 Beltway, and Blue Diamond is a wide, main road to the I-15 Freeway.
🚶 How Walkable Is Mountains Edge?
There are multiple walkable parks and walking paths with various levels of difficulty. Neighborhoods have bike lanes and wide sidewalks. You can choose your route to avoid hills by walking east and west. If your route is north and south, you probably have inclines.
🏞️ What Are The Mountains Surrounding Las Vegas Called?
We have the main mountains surrounding Las Vegas as protected areas. The west side has the Spring Mountains. They include the Toiyabe National Forest, where Mt. Charleston is, and Red Rock Canyon is part of the Spring Mountains. Backing Henderson’s homes are the McCullough Mountains. The McCullough Wilderness Area is over 100 miles long and open to exploration; it includes the Sloan Canyon Petroglyphs. The northern mountains are the Sheep Mountains behind North Las Vegas. Moisture gathers over that range, giving the area sporadic rain that isn’t shared with other Vegas Valley areas.
👍 What Is The Best Part Of Nevada To Live In?
Having lived in Southern Nevada for 35 years, I’m going to say the Las Vegas Valley is entertaining and easy to live in. People visit us from all over the country. The best concerts and shows come to town regularly. There are rodeos, football, basketball, hockey, Lacrosse, Pro Volleyball, golf tournaments, F-1 races, and running events. With plays, a choir, symphony, museums, and a ballet theatre, there is culture. Hundreds of churches with many denominations cover most spiritual needs. Cheaper or free show tickets and free parking for locals are the icing on the cake!
