The History of Storybook Homes
Storybook Homes started as a local builder. However, in 2021 the company was acquired by Toll Brothers. (See below)
The story of Storybook Homes began in 1995 by the husband and wife team, Wayne and Catherine Laska. Their mission is to build houses of the highest quality and provide each of their buyers with outstanding customer service.
For this relatively small, local builder to survive the devastating Financial Recession says a great deal. They survived due to how they operate and their reputation. The recession hit Las Vegas extremely hard, and many builders went under, even national companies.
Through wise land acquisitions and by focusing on lower and mid-priced houses, Storybook Homes managed to maintain enough liquidity to make it through the hard times.
They came out of the recession stronger than before. During the past eight years, the company has continued to thrive. Storybook Homes currently builds houses throughout Las Vegas and Henderson, and now Boulder City!
Building in Boulder City is a huge boon because the first new home community is being offered in Boulder City for many years. Boulder City has a building moratorium, and the homes they are building are pretty awesome. While making homeownership dreams come true, Storybook’s motto is “Where Home Is Your Happily Ever After”.
Toll Brothers Bought Storybook Homes
Storybook Homes also had Las Vegas and Henderson undeveloped land but, their building agreement with Boulder City may be priceless.
The Boulder City building moratorium allows only 90 new-build building permits for residential development each year. That includes multi-family, condos, and apartments. And Storybook builds 30 of those 90 residences.
Even though Storybook has nice homes with good floor plans, Toll Brothers builds large contemporary houses. What happens in 2022 will be dependent on whether permits were issued or already applied for. Maybe some houses were pre-sold…
Part of the Storybook – Boulder City exclusive agreement is the ability to buy 10 acres every year. Since no other builder or developer has this agreement, its value was certainly valuable.
We will see if Toll Brothers brings their popular upscale houses and floorplans to Boulder City. We’ll see what 2022 and 2023 will bring. It’ll be interesting to watch. If you’ve been thinking about a Toll Brothers home for sale, Storybook Homes Boulder City may be a great opportunity.
