FAQs About Woodside Homes Las Vegas
✨ Is Woodside A Wealthy Neighborhood?
Woodside Homes has been a great housing choice in Las Vegas for 30 years. Some of the nicest neighborhoods in the valley are built by Woodside Homes. People who own these homes create beautiful backyards to go along with their large homes. I consider Woodside neighborhoods to be a good option for financially comfortable people.
🏢 Who Bought Out Woodside Homes?
The top Japanese builder, Sekisui House, bought 100% of Woodside in 2017, as part of its emergence into the Western US Housing Market. They kept their name, floorplans, and land acquisitions. They also bought Hubble Homes and integrated it into the Woodside brand.
They have new homes around the valley, including in Skye Canyon and Cadence. Sekisui House is the owner of Shawood in Summerlin, an elite alternative construction community, and we love the construction innovations used in their homes.
I think Sekisui will go far in America.
💎 What Is The Richest Suburb In Las Vegas?
In Las Vegas, the richest suburb would have to be Summerlin. It is 22,500 acres where homes range from the $400,000s to over $33,000,000. Henderson, NV has wealthy suburbs, or master planned communities that are comparable to Summerlin, but not as large.
🏠 Why Is Woodside So Expensive?
Woodside Homes has great floorplans with architectural items as standard. Their standard staircase in one model is a curved “grand” design. A bedroom with a shower or tub bath is in their two-story homes. Lots are nice-sized, where swimming pools are possible. Most builders charge more money for these types of designs.
🌳 Woodside Homes Las Vegas Summerlin
Woodside Homes Las Vegas Summerlin was on the Willows Village model home walk in the 1990s. They are a high-end builder of large homes with a good reputation. I was at a resale Woodside Home last week, where the owners spent over $100K on palm trees and rock work. A resale Woodside home for sale can be the best value out there.
📍 Woodside Homes Henderson, NV – Las Vegas Cadence
Woodside homes in Henderson, NV, have the same well-planned floorplans as Summerlin does. Considering the standard items in their new homes, I think they are a good value and worth looking at in resale and new construction. Building in Cadence gives homebuyers the advantage of lower land prices and the quality of a Woodside – Sekisui House home.
⭐ Is Woodside Homes A Good Builder?
I think Woodside Homes is a good builder, and they build a quality house. As with all builders, new homes are not built perfectly; they are built by people. Each community’s quality depends on the diligence of the Building Superintendent.
If they don’t check each sub-contractor’s work, your house will have issues. We monitor the construction every week and gift every new home buyer that we work with a Building Standards Home Inspection (that takes 4 hours) at closing. Protect your home and investment. Talk to us.
Take Our New and Resale Home Area Tour
To make your homebuying experience easier, we provide a “3-hour tour” of the areas and houses that fit your lifestyle choices. We can include new construction, resale homes, or both to show you the values and amenities of each area of the valley. Book our area tour when you plan your trip.
If you are local, we are here to help in every way. When our clients buy a new-build home, most builders pay us to represent you. I monitor the construction for you or with you every 7-10 days and report issues to the superintendent. You will have the best-built home on the block!
With more neighborhoods coming soon, they will be building homes in the Las Vegas valley for a long time to come. We like Woodside’s square footages and prices. The integrity of their construction – in general, excels compared to other builders. Every development is only as good as its Superintendent’s diligence.

Builder Tip #1 – Did you know?
Most Las Vegas Builders will pay for you to have buyer representation. The Realtor commission is already included in the price of a home, and you get no refund if you represent yourself. You want this fabulous benefit!
Their only hoops to jump are:
1. Do not register on any builder’s website
2. Go to model homes with your Realtor on your first visit.
You’ll want to use a new construction building pro Realtor. In Southern Nevada for custom and national builders, that agent is Kurt Grosse.
In addition to us selling Real Estate for 29 years, Kurt is a former Nevada Building Engineer. (P.E., C.E) With how quickly Nevada homes are built, his knowledge and services are invaluable. As your New Construction home is built, he goes to the site every 7-10 days to monitor the construction for you or with you. And he gifts you a Building Standards Home Inspection at closing.
Read our “About Us” page and/or “7 Reasons To Use A New Construction Realtor” before you look at homes. Kurt is a New Construction Buyer Protector.
Energy Efficient Woodside Homes

Most of their residences include Low-E2 vinyl windows, programmable thermostats, and water-saving fixtures. Another stand-out building material they’ve included in their designs is a radiant barrier in the attic. Radiant barriers reduce the attic temperature by blocking heat at the roof.
It’s important to know what standard features are included with each builder. Energy-efficient homes save the home buyer money every month. When high-tech energy-saving materials and features are options, you are not comparing apples to apples.
The History Of Woodside Homes Las Vegas
The History of Woodside Homes
Woodside Homes was founded in Utah in 1977. Over the years, they grew, branching out into neighboring southwestern states. As with many builders, they were caught with high-priced land when values were rapidly depreciating.
The company filed for bankruptcy in 2008. Emerging from that, they were acquired by Oaktree Capital Management and Stonehill Institutional Partners. Finally, in 2017, Woodside Homes was purchased by the Japanese giant Sekisui House Ltd.
As a result of Woodside Homes joining the Sekisui House family of companies, they have leveraged their buying power. They’ve also incorporated emerging international technology into the homebuilding process. In addition to the United States, Sekisui builds homes in Japan, China, Singapore, and Australia.

Woodside Homes Energy-Saving Materials
Save Money Every Month On Utilities
A standard question we ask at each model home is about clarifying standard and optional energy-efficient features. When you are saving $100-200 a month during the summer and winter, energy-saving features pay for themselves.

A radiant barrier is a minimum $2000 upgrade with some builders, and they include it as standard. Other builders never mention radiant barriers as an option. Radiant barriers are on the other side of the roof to block the heat that hits the roof from coming in.
Less obvious energy-saving features used by Woodside Homes Las Vegas include their paint and plumbing pipes. Woodside Homes Las Vegas uses Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) paint and PEX piping.
PEX pipes don’t conduct heat or cold temperatures like copper pipes do, decreasing hot and cold water usage. Low VOC paint is good for the planet and the health of the home’s air. We want you to know what you are buying.
The Future of Woodside Homes Building Methods?
Woodside Homes Las Vegas Communities

In January 2020, a 5000+ square foot luxury home built with pre-fabbed modular units was constructed in Summerlin. Woodside’s use of global energy-saving tech made this housing project different and exciting.
Their model house was built to debut at the CES – Consumer Electronics Show, a Top 10 Las Vegas Convention. The pandemic overshadowed the debut of this brilliant house.
We are excited that builders are aware and continue to utilize fabulous energy, financial, and labor-saving technology.

Does Woodside Homes Pay For You To Have A Realtor?
Yes, Woodside Homes Las Vegas and most Las Vegas Builders will pay for you to have buyer representation. You pay the same price for your home whether you choose to have a Realtor represent you or not.
By law, in Nevada, a builder’s model home agents and employees ONLY work for the builder. They are friendly, but they are not looking out for you. Builder contracts in Las Vegas are 100% in the builder’s favor for a reason.
What Kind Of Realtor Can Protect Me?
Skip the chatty chauffeur agent and use a good Realtor who knows the builders, construction, and can protect you. One who will monitor the construction of your home every 7-10 days, either for you or with you. Kurt is on your team, not the builder’s.
Whether you’re in town or out of town, he takes weekly pictures of your home and talks to you about the construction’s progress. He talks to the construction superintendent with you and sometimes for you when there are issues.
The smart home features, wiring, plumbing, and energy-efficient building materials are something you want documented, checked, and photographed. You also need to know that houses in Las Vegas are built by subcontractors in a hurry and are not perfect.
If you are not looking for a property in Las Vegas, other Realtors around the country provide similar services. Investigate or call us to see who we know in your area.
Builder Tip #2
When you find a floor plan you like in an area you like, take a few hours to look for a similar resale home nearby. Resale homes in Las Vegas may have a larger lot, window coverings, upgrades, upgraded flooring, garage door openers, and backyard landscaping.
The price may be A LOT less, and the property tax will probably be less. There is a large vacation home, snowbird, and retiree population in the Vegas area. Homes for sale can be very gently used.

After Finding Your Perfect New House
In the past couple of years, it has been rare to find a brand-new construction home that is move-in-ready. Lower-end builders are doing pre-decorated houses that are put up for sale when they are nearing completion. Woodside Homes is not one.
You will probably get to “order and customize” your home exactly how you want it. There are important decisions to make. “Option cut-off dates” are when you can no longer modify or change floor plans or materials. Don’t miss cut-offs.

In our new home program results, you’ll see houses with the same square footage displayed in 3 looks. Woodside Homes often stagger the elevations (exterior looks) of homes to avoid the “cookie-cutter” syndrome.
Floor plans, elevations, dimensions, square footage, and maps are all approximates and artist renderings. Know that your home’s exterior may vary slightly according to the pictured location and materials used. You’ll usually know changes before construction begins.
Is Woodside Homes A Good Builder?
Woodside Homes builds in Phoenix, Arizona; the Central Valley, California; Northern California; Southern California; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Salt Lake City, Utah. Due to variances in weather, floor plans, materials, and features, prices and information change and are adjusted per climate and needs. We always ask the sales consultant for additional information if you have questions or if something is unclear.
You’ll want to look for complaints and lawsuits about all builders in your state. We’ve seen large national builders buy developments in litigation. A builder is only as good as their superintendent, subcontractors, materials, reports, and customer service departments.
We like Woodside Homes Las Vegas. They have been building quality homes in the Las Vegas Valley for over 30 years and have an excellent reputation. They aren’t ever on the news, which is a great thing. Their houses have well-thought-out floor plans, feel elegant, and look nice upon delivery.
Woodside Homes Henderson is in Cadence. It is an EPA clean-up location where they still filter groundwater. The houses are urban-style and use less land, encouraging the amenities customers desire within Cadence. With a great price, these Henderson Woodside Homes in Cadence are worth visiting.
Regardless, we gift every new home buyer a Building Standards Home Inspection at closing. It’s important to know what’s wrong with your home while the warranty is valid. Especially when there are factory-defective windows or missing insulation, which affect your comfort and utility bills.
Builder Tip #3
By Investment Standards, you want to buy the least expensive house on the block instead of the most expensive. If you are looking to spend a lot of money on upgrades, consider more subdivisions or builders that offer more upgraded features as standard.
